Neurodivergence in Family Law Matters

12 April 2024

By: Stephanie Reid

The increasing prevalence of autism and other co-occurring conditions presents a challenge to all family court professionals.

It is critical when working in this complex field, to possess an appropriate understanding of how to apprropriately work with children and families where someone may present with neurodivergent needs.

What an honour to host the wonderful Stephanie Lau (Stephanie Mei-Gwan Wong Lau), Educational and Developmental Psychologist speak about neurodivergent children in family law matters at Empower Family Law and Mediation on Tuesday 9 April 2024.

Stephanie’s talk gave us all a better understanding of the complex issues affecting this vulnerable population, and how we can work in a more sensitive and effective way with them.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend.

Thank you Pacifica Congress for organising.

At Empower Family Law & Mediation our mission is to give our clients control over their family law dispute by arming them with expert advice, strategy and representation.

We are grateful for Stephanie’s generosity in taking time out on a dreary Melbourne evening to share her expertise and help us better serve our clients. We look forward to hosting more of these informative events for family law and allied professionals throughout 2024.
